Naomi Scott (born May 6, 1993) is a british actress who portrays Maddy Shannon on Terra Nova. She was born in London, England, UK. She was able to hide her accent while filming Terra Nova and Lemonade Mouth. She has appeared in Life Bites, a British TV show, and Lemonade Mouth, a Disney Channel Original Movie and her first role in an American production.

In June 2014, Scott married English footballer Jordan Spence after four years of dating.

Early LifeEdit

Scott was born in London, England. She was the daughter of an Indian Ugandan raised mother and British father.

She is also a humanitarian, as she regularly participates in outreach work and missionaries. She has traveled to Slovakia to teach English in schools and perform with her youth band.

CareerEdit

Scott first began her singing career with the Bridge Church Youth Band, in which she often performed regularly with during school musicals and drama productions. She went to work with British songwriters and producers (Xenomania) when she was discovered by Kelle Bryan, a British pop-singer for the band Eternal. Bryan signed Scott as a client. She sang in Lemonade Mouth, along with some of her other fellow castmates Bridgit Mendler, Adam Hicks, Hayley Kiyoko, and Blake Michael.

Her first major acting role was with Life Bites, a Disney Channel UK series that began in 2009. She landed her first role in American production with Lemonade Mouth, a Disney Channel Original Movie, in 2010 and was casted the role of Mo Banjaree, one of the main characters (along with Hayey Kiyoko, Adam Hicks, Blake Michael, and Bridgit Mendler). She co-starred in Steven Spielberg's TV series Terra Nova, which premiered in September 2011. The series, however, was not renewed for a second season. Scott was cast as Ryoko in Ridley Scott's The Martian in 2015. She filmed her scenes but they were removed from the final cut. In October, she was cast in a co-leading role as Kimberly Hart, the Pink Ranger, in Power Rangers (2017), the film adaptation of the TV series of the same name.

In 2019, Scott starred as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, a live-action adaptation of Disney's 1992 animated film of the same name.

Trivia Edit

  • When she was cast for Terra Nova, she left school in the middle of her A-Levels.[1]
  • She launched her musical career in 2014 with the release of her first EP, Invisible Division.
